The Front Range’s Premier Mountain Festival hosted by the Colorado Mountain Club and powered by prAna. Join outdoor enthusiasts for a fun-filled weekend of multi-sport adventuring and a celebration of all things Colorado. There’s something for everyone from advanced mountaineers to novice mountain bikers! This event is free and open to the public of all ages. We invite all outdoor loving Coloradans to come together as a community, have fun, and learn. We hope to empower beginners to start exploring safely and responsibly, as well as encourage advanced alpinists to gain the new skills required to achieve their next adventure goals through our many field clinics, workshops, and seminars. Complete with vendor village, gear demos, beer garden from Odell Brewing Co, and live entertainment, this is an event you won't want to miss. There will be VIP tickets on sale and plenty of opportunity to win prizes through raffles. Curious about how Colorado homeowners are saving money and resources while helping to slow the effects of global climate change? During the annual Metro Denver Green Homes Tour, area residents have the opportunity to visit a wide variety of homes to see firsthand what individuals can do to create pleasing high-performance home environments. The Tour has been in the Denver area for twenty-three years, with similar events in all fifty other states. This year’s self-guided tour coincides with the National Tour of Solar Homes and features homes that demonstrate a wide range of strategies from remodeling options to full-on passive solar design to an entire community focused on clean, efficient energy. Spend an hour or a full day exploring both new homes and homes that have a history of performance in Arvada, Denver, Golden & foothills, Littleton, and Westminster. Nearly every day we read or hear about new and evolving technologies that can help us save money in our homes while being environmentally responsible. Options are plentiful and questions inevitably arise. What is right for me and my home? Can I do this now or do I have to plan for it? Is it cheap and easy or more involved? Do I have to change my lifestyle? Our Metro Denver Green Homes Tour lets you speak directly with proud efficient homeowners, see and experience what they have done, and get all your questions answered without spin or pressure, so you gain the real-world facts, from the source, to make decisions that are best for you today and tomorrow. These fantastic homes are open for tours from 9 am to 4 pm. Start your self-guided tour by picking up your guidebook and map at the American Mountaineering Center, 710 10th Street, Golden, CO 80401 after 9 am. Another option: Books are available for purchase, or for pick up if you have already purchased online, on Friday October 4 from 10-5 pm at Golden Real Estate 17695 S. Golden Road, Golden CO 80401. Included in your registration is a fun reception party, appetizers, local beverages with a Green Expo, sustainable exhibits and Electric Vehicle Roundup from 4 pm to 6 pm back at the American Mountaineering Center. Please note that homes are not available for tours after 4 pm.
